Summary

The Corporate Production Control & Logistics Manager directs and coordinates the activities of the Corporate Production Control & Logistics team including advanced PC&L, freight optimization, and support plant to improve inventory turnover and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate must have PC&L Manager experience in an automotive Tier 1.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs, oversees and coordinates the activities within the Corporate Production Control & Logistics team.
  • Support the plant Production Control & Logistics team to improve PC&L KPI’s, and initiate CI project to minimize inventory days, optimizing the logistics cost, and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Standardize processes across Autoneum North America plants.
  1. Ensure Production Control & Logistics processes, procedures, disciplines are documented, updated, maintained and training is completed.
  2. Train of Production Control & Logistics fundamentals (I.e. demand analysis, production planning / scheduling, material planning, material flow, repetitive manufacturing, warehouse management, inventory management / analysis, etc.).
  3. Performs audits to ensure compliance to Production Control & Logistics policies and procedures. Monitors trends and establishes action to improve.
  • Take lead for Advanced PC&L activities in launch stage including packaging, PFEP and optimize the MOQ with supplier, and support business transfers and launch activities.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives and achievement of the freight budget.
  • Support the plant Production Control & Logistics teams during audits (I.e. customer, MMOG, VDA, LPA, IATF, ISO14001, Maturity Assessment, etc.)
  • Provide back-up support for Corporate Production Control & Logistics team as needed.
  • Support plant Production Control & Logistics teams by filling in for absent personnel (emergency basis).
  • Manage escalation activities within the plants, suppliers and customers.
  • Act as liaison between the plant Production Control & Logistics team, Corporate Departments and GPOPS.
  • Assist Director, Production Control & Logistics with budget preparation.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Travel requirements – 50% - 75% (worse case)


Education / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Materials Management, Supply Chain or related field from a 4-year college or university, preferably with APICS certification.
  • Deep understanding of planning and basics of supply chain management from capacity planning, demand planning, production planning, material planning and MRP.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Materials Management and or Production Control & Logistics in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience is preferred (I.e. Materials Management, Production Control & Logistics, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management. Repetitive Manufacturing, Production Planning / Scheduling, Shipping, Receiving, etc.)
  • Sequencing experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial and business acumen.
  • Knowledge of automotive customers systems and requirements is required.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, to work within deadlines with a high attention to detail, and to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in Logistics, Freight Management and customs requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing

Language Ability

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, plant operations, local and global teams.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and processes, procedures, manuals, work instructions, etc.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various teams, groups, managers, Executive Team, team members, customers and suppliers.


Math Ability

  • Strong math skills are required.
  • Strong financial and presentation skills is preferred.

Reasoning Ability

  • Must be able to analyze problems logically and develop plans for resolution.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and be organized in approach to planning.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills to determine root cause of the issues.
  • Proposes and oversees implementation of corrective actions.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office software.
  • Proficient in SAP is preferrable.


This position works under pressure of deadlines with interruptions occurring regularly.

Position frequently requires more than 40 hours per week.
