About the Role:

As a Production Engineer at Pennbarry, you will provide technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams, production supervisors, and associates. Your focus will be on improving production processes, reducing costs, enhancing quality, and increasing efficiency. You will collaborate with vendors on equipment development, manage capital projects, and play a key role in implementing safety requirements and process improvements throughout the plant. You will also work closely with the Product Engineering team to support new product development and oversee equipment specifications and performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, maintenance teams, and production staff.
  • Analyze processes for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to establish optimal sequences of operations for production.
  • Develop equipment specifications for new product development and collaborate with vendors on production-specific equipment.
  • Implement and maintain safety requirements for equipment and processes across the plant.
  • Design process layouts to improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.
  • Create equipment specifications for capital projects, plan and implement capital project initiatives.
  • Lead budgeting and cost reduction projects.
  • Work with the Product Engineering team on new product implementation and product design.
  • Oversee maintenance technicians and manage engineering functions within assigned buildings.
  • Manage capital equipment projects and ensure proper execution.
  • Redesign and rebuild existing manufacturing equipment to meet current needs.
  • Travel to satellite facilities for equipment installation, repair, and improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean production processes and principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • CNC programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience with sheet metal is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams.
  • Experience in capital project management and budgeting.
