Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and input to the engineering team in the evaluation and development of new products.
- Work with the engineering team to develop and test boilers, water heaters, and heat pumps by performing various duties, including building product prototypes, fabricating assemblies, and conducting non-standard product development tests.
- Utilize various power and non-power tools to build prototypes and test equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering documents, such as CAD drawings, electrical schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Fabricate complex test fixtures to accomplish unique product development test requirements.
- Conduct operational performance tests and evaluations for complete units and/or individual components.
- Record test procedures and results with both numerical and graphical data and present results to the engineering team and other lab technicians.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 6 months of related experience.
- Fabrication skills, such as welding, brazing, or soldering.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in a lab environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
