Our client's home health organization is seeking a Technical Lead with a strong background in software engineering, specifically in the Microsoft stack. The Technical Lead will assist a team managing a homegrown Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system that supports their value-based care model. This role involves working closely with development teams and interfacing with the business side to manage and prioritize the application backlog and provide daytime support. The Technical Lead will work autonomously and take initiative in managing the application, with support from a dedicated Business Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development and Technical Leadership:
- Lead the development and maintenance of the homegrown EMR system using the Microsoft stack (e.g., C#, .NET, Azure).
- Ensure high-quality code delivery through code reviews, testing, and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical expertise and support.
- Backlog Management and Prioritization:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Create, manage, and prioritize the application backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Work closely with the Business Analyst to refine and break down tasks into actionable items.
- Business and Stakeholder Communication:
- Interface with the business side to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations.
- Facilitate communication between development teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Daytime Support and Issue Resolution:
- Provide effective daytime support for the EMR application, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
- Ensure minimal downtime and high availability of the application.
- Initiative and Autonomy:
- Take immediate initiative to understand the existing EMR system and its integration within the value-based care model.
- Work autonomously to drive projects and tasks to completion without extensive supervision.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and propose solutions proactively.
- Documentation and Best Practices:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for the application, including architecture, codebase, and support procedures.
- Promote and enforce best practices in software development, security, and data protection.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong background in software engineering, with expertise in the Microsoft stack (e.g., C#, .NET, Azure, SQL Server).
- Proven experience in leading development teams and managing software projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of healthcare systems and value-based care models is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with EMR systems and healthcare IT.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and data protection regulations in healthcare.
