We are currently seeking a Landscape Manager with landscaping and construction industry experience for our Madison client.


Responsibilities/Duties


The Landscape Manager is responsible for overseeing landscape construction crews and projects throughout the landscape season and managing a snow route in the winter months. This includes supervision of staff as well as responsibility for meeting production hours and quality goals.


  • Coordinate landscape construction crews; schedule work on job sites every week in coordination with the Production Manager.
  • Provides direction, plot/design plans, job information, and schedules to landscape crews and subcontractors.
  • Visits job sites regularly provides crews with necessary information to complete assigned tasks, and coordinates with job site supervisors as applicable.
  • Review the landscape construction plans and schedule materials and equipment to be delivered to the job sites on a timely basis; work with the Administrative Assistant to coordinate the Diggers Hotline.
  • Ensures necessary paperwork is completed for each project; including working with Inventory Control to make sure that daily load slips and other paperwork are completed correctly for the delivery drivers and dock employees.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with internal and external customers and employees.
  • Model and promote safe work habits and a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Set standards for a quality company image that invites customers to repeat their business and retain employees.
  • Directly supervise crew leaders and landscape employees; this includes fostering a positive team-orientated environment, training, setting expectations, approving employee time, participating in the hiring process, conducting reviews, coaching, and discipline.
  • Review and price monthly applications for billing.


Skills You Need


  • A valid driver’s license with good driving record is required; CDL is helpful.
  • Landscape construction experience is required; previous crew leader or supervisor experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field, preferred but not required.
  • Previous equipment operating experience (loader, bobcat, skid steer or other used in landscape installation) is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Outlook (email), Word, and Excel.
  • Being bilingual in Spanish and English is helpful but not needed.
