We are searching for a local Product Engineer that enjoys creating/designing cutting edge products that are used internationally, often times in disaster scenarios.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with Technical Team to introduce new mold designs, tooling and processes.
  • Develop scientifically based processes and generate documentation to ensure run consistency of quality and efficiency via established process specifications.
  • Provide engineering feedback on new designs to insure process capability and review and testing of new materials. Participate in mold design reviews prior to mold build.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and daily processing activities.
  • May be involved with auxiliary equipment to support molding operation such as robots, pickers, closing machines, etc.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Molding Technicians and productions mechanics.
  • Support injection molding process control and capability using scientific molding principles.
  • Drive molding process improvements to include cycle time efficiencies, cavitation, scrap reduction, and establishment of optimal processing parameters.
  • Provide technical support for new tooling qualifications and process capability studies. • Support process improvement, reduction of downtime, cost reduction, and corrective action teams.


Qualifications:


  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering and 3+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plastic injection molding process, machines, and resins
  • Knowledge of automation, robots, and vision systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, scientific and technical journals and procedures
