Capitol Airspace specializes in the FAA aeronautical study process, obstruction evaluation, air traffic control operations, airspace design, and flight procedures development. Capitol Airspace additionally has growing lines of business in solar glint and glare analysis and electromagnetic spectrum analysis.

We pride ourselves on our ability to assist airports and developers in striking a balance between the need for economic development and the preservation of the National Airspace System. We identify, study, and resolve aviation impacts.

 

Role Description

Our clients rely on our expertise to navigate the FAA regulatory process for reviewing proposed structures, including buildings, antenna towers, wind turbines, and moored aerostats. The Project Manager / Consultant is the single point-of-contact responsible for tracking all technical, programmatic, and contractual requirements on a day-to-day basis, as well as strategy, project development, and execution. This is a full-time, on-site role.

 

Examples of day-to-day responsibilities include:

·        Interfacing with clients that come from varying backgrounds including aviation, real estate development, and renewable energy.

·        Coordinating with the analytic team to deliver various airspace and obstacle evaluation studies.

·        Working closely with the Director of Analytics to ensure on-time delivery, accuracy, and solutions for complex projects requiring mitigation to resolve airspace impacts.

·        Overseeing the entire project/client lifecycle from introductory meeting to invoicing, to future project needs.

·        Presenting comprehensive analytical findings to clients and identifying next steps, with support from the analytic team.

·        Drafting and presenting white papers, executive summaries, and meeting minutes.

·        Exploring opportunities for project and client growth.

·        Developing strategies to address client objectives while protecting for the efficiency and safety of the National Airspace System.

·        Analyzing client needs to ensure our services continue to evolve and solve client problems with an overall strategic focus on Capitol Airspace’s mission.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

·        Strong analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

·        Superior verbal and written communication skills

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

·        Ability to remain flexible and adapt to change

·        Interpersonal and conflict management skills

·        Personal ownership and accountability

·        Ability to build relationships and work with diverse client groups

·        Ability to work with all levels of staff

·        Ability to “read-the-room:” assess a situation, problem solve, and critically think in fast-paced situations

·        At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

·        At least two years work experience

 

 

Desired:

·        Experience in explaining complex processes and technical issues to client groups that are not familiar with the activity, tailored to their specific needs and technical understanding

·        Experience in complex project or client management, especially if related to building development (e.g., architect, survey, permitting, or development experience)
