The ideal candidate will have experience in creating, managing, and optimizing email campaigns, with a strong understanding of product lifecycle communication and technical content.
Job Description
Email Campaign Management:
- Plan, create, and execute email marketing campaigns to communicate product updates, new features, bug fixes, and other technical updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop segmented email lists to ensure relevant messaging reaches the appropriate audience.
- A/B test email content, subject lines, and sending times to optimize open rates and engagement.
Content Creation & Editing:
- Write and edit clear, concise, and engaging email copy that effectively communicates technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer support teams to gather accurate and up-to-date information for email content.
- Create visually appealing email templates using HTML and email marketing tools, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
Automation & Workflow Optimization:
- Set up and manage automated email workflows to streamline the delivery of product updates and technical information.
- Use CRM and email marketing platforms to track email performance and implement data-driven improvements.
- Ensure emails are mobile-responsive and optimized for various email clients and devices.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor key email marketing metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting insights and recommending strategies for improvement.
- Utilize analytics tools to track user engagement and feedback, refining email strategies based on findings.
Compliance & Best Practices:
- Ensure all email communications comply with relevant regulations, including GDPR and CAN-SPAM.
- Stay current with email marketing best practices and trends, continuously improving the quality and effectiveness of email campaigns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the product development, sales, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on messaging and timing of updates.
- Coordinate with the design team to create supporting visuals and assets for email campaigns.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in email marketing, particularly focused on product updates or technical communications.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Experience in a technology or software company.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation tools.
- Knowledge of email deliverability best practices and strategies to improve engagement.
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email design and the ability to work with templates.
- Analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive decisions and improve performance.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
