Position Summary

The Sr. Public Relations Specialist will play an essential role in supporting strategic initiatives to create and maintain a positive public image. This individual, along with the Business Development Team and Marketing, will work closely with local government partners, communities, and customers to organize events and respond to media inquiries. This role plays a crucial role in crafting and disseminating messages that promote the company’s goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and execute public events, groundbreakings, tours, etc., coordinate press coverage, photography, videography, and customer interviews for events.
  • Address and manage inquiries from external stakeholders, the media, and other parties.
  • Coordinate with local government partners on communication efforts, including locality-led messaging, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Compose press releases, presentations, articles, speeches, video scripts, and other communication materials for the company.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with consumer, community, and public interest groups.
  • Monitor the organization's public image and sentiment through media monitoring and sentiment analysis tools. Provide input on addressing and mitigating any negative perceptions or issues that may arise.
  • Respond to and manage elevated customer inquiries/issues.
  • Coordinate local goodwill initiatives, such as charities and participation in local events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business or related field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in drafting corporate messaging and communications for press releases, social media, and public events.
  • Experience with organizing community events and capturing necessary content.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work for prolonged periods outside during events.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
