Solutions Architect to support one of our large telecommunications clients on a large effort. Candidates must work on site 3 days a week in either Charlotte, St. Louis, or Denver, and must work on a W2 basis:


Notes

  • Org is broken down into 2 Feature teams with ~20 Developers, Scrum Master, 3 BAs, and Product Owner. QA is mostly offshore and there’s a separate team responsible for Program Management and Release Management.
  • SA is responsible for Ordering solution for the Sales Reps. The solution/product is a domain as part of a larger SPA framework used by call center agents to place and manage orders for all lines of the client's business.
  • SA serves as leader / liaison on JAD sessions. SA establishes scope, gathers high level requirements from CustomerOps stakeholders, and contributes to program roadmap.
  • Once high level design is documented, SA works with Tiger team and Feature Dev teams to ensure they are aligned.
  • Work closely with Product Owner, senior leadership, and Tigers and participate in design sessions, assess ideas and provide recommendations to the Product Owner.
  • SA is responsible for customer design and ensuring development adheres to the agreed upon solution
  • As issues or concerns arise from CustomerOps, SA addresses with internal product development team
  • Jr. SA will have at least 7 years of relevant experience and working experience in Ordering or Communications. While Sr. SA will be an expert with industry knowledge of Web and Network Architecture. It would be ideal if we found someone with prior telecommunications experience.


Technical / Business Requirements:

  • SAs don’t get into the weeds but ideal candidates will understand Single Page Application (SPA) framework, Web APIs, Web Flow, Web Services, and have working experience with complex business applications integrated across an enterprise. There are tons of downstream systems and the Ordering solution is being extended across Mobile.
  • Ideal SAs will have experience with Ordering and/or Communications (Cable/Fiber Services), ideally both. This Product has a very high volume of daily transactions and is deemed mission critical to the client's business.
  • Ability to communicate / politely but assertively negotiate designs for desired features. Meetings regularly include VPs, Directors (business and technical side), and Product Owners across the org. Presentation skills are a must.

  • Jira / Chalk 2
  • Visio (or similar tools for design visualizations – there are a lot of tools on the market)
  • PowerPoint (PP) and WebEx or similar

Solutions Architect (SA) delivers technically complex and customized solutions to clients and product team. SA works with boundary partners to create a successful product roadmap and provides modern enterprise technology solutions that meet the unique needs of some of the country's biggest brands. SAs serve as trusted technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders that effectively eliminate obstacles and barriers to the greater business. SAs possess business and technical acumen and outstanding presentation and communication skills. SAs collaborate with teams in person and digitally within an office environment and travel as needed.

WHAT OUR SOLUTIONS ARCHITECTS ENJOY MOST

  • Serve as an SME for an assigned technology domain with our voice, video and data solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings across multiple stages, including discovery, proposal, overcoming objections and closing.
  • Develop technical responses and strategies for RFIs and RFPs.
  • Ensure that our product roadmap is aligned to client needs and industry trends.
  • Present well-documented solutions to overcome objections from high-level decision-makers.
  • Work with various internal teams to develop unique service offerings.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Ten or more years of technical experience in cable or telecommunications solutions, designing large-scale IP networks and network engineering, network administrator or network sales engineering experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to develop technical solutions across multiple Spectrum Enterprise offerings; Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Skills: Presentation, planning, prioritization, organizational English communication skills.
  • Abilities: Inquisitive nature.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fifteen or more years of technical experience in cable or telecommunications solutions, designing large-scale IP networks and network engineering, network administrator or network sales engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
