2D/3D Drafter/Designer

CoWorx Staffing Services has an exciting opportunity to join one of our premier clients team as a 2D/3D Drafter/Designer in the Griffin area. Our client is expanding and has a lot of exciting growth opportunities.
As the Designer/Drafter, will operate computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment to generate prints for use in production and manufacturing associated with the packaging facilities requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design fabricated mechanical parts and system assemblies using CAD software
- 3D modeling, create layout views, create full parametric part and assembly drawings, and create DXF files for manufacture
- Create complete bill of materials for project requiring fabrication
- Create 2D wiring diagrams and schematic drawings and sketches
- Use CAM software to generate machine code for CNC machine operators
- Verify dimensions of sourced parts
- Perform simulations of 3D models under customer specified stresses
- Quality control in respect of initial inspection of fabrication parts and pre-shipping of finished products
- Estimate fabrication costs
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Product development tasks as assigned by company
- Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by management
Additional skills/Attributes needed/Comments:
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, team driven environment
- Ability to work with highly-customized products
- Ability to handle pressured situations with professionalism and calm and work without supervision
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to communicate plans, goals and information effectively to the workforce
- Good mathematical skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with sheet metal design
- Knowledge of SolidWorks Simulations
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of metal shop tooling, basic welds and steel work
- A valid Class C Driver License required
License, Certifications, or Training Requirements:
- Company's Required Safety Training and Annual recertifications
- Certification, Training or Professional experience with SolidWorks 3D Software
- Ability to create functional shop equipment training guides
- Knowledge of pertinent electrical and building codes
Experience & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four year college degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Professional experience with SolidWorks 3D Software
- Experience with AutoCAD
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally Lift/Carry/Lower 15 – 30 Lbs, seldom Lift/Carry/Lower +30 Lbs.
- Occasionally pushing/pulling, reaching (both above and below shoulder), bending/twisting, walking, standing, repetition – hand/wrist simple and firm grasping.
- Seldom crouching/stooping/squatting, crawling/kneeling, climbing/stepping.
Environmental Conditions:
Shop environment may be extremely hot (over 90 degrees) or cold (less than 40 degrees).Equipment, tools and job site may be very loud requiring hearing protection. Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, working on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground. Appropriate PPE maybe required and mandated.
