Essential Functions

• Leading electrical and instrumentation projects from design to full project execution.

• Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment. (AutoCAD).

• Collaborating with other engineers and plant personnel for trouble shooting repairs and future projects.

• To ensure operating and installation standards are met for electrical and instrumentation systems by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.

• Perform the necessary detailed calculations in preparing standards, designs, and plans.

• Ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, and codes, by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities. • Conduct inspections to ensure equipment and systems are in a safe and proper operable condition.

• Preparing reports and compiling data with existing and potential electrical engineering projects.

• Developing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.

• Supervising and training plant personnel and project team members.

• Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for capital projects and budget preparation.

• Diagnosing and solving electrical problems.

• Working closely with others to install, service, calibrate, and update electrical systems.

• Developing and testing electrical system prototypes or simulated events and making equipment or controls modifications when needed.


Other Requirements

• Working knowledge and experience in designing medium and low voltage systems (12470v to 24v)

• Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.

• Designing experience with PLC cabinets, MCC and Switchboards.

• Requires 10 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering in an industrial environment.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and or electrical engineering technology degree from an accredited school.

• Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.

• Knowledge of applicable codes related to electrical engineering.

• Able to manage several projects at one time.

• Solid interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Relationships: This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager but will also build strong direct working relationships with plant personnel, engineering staff, and third-party vendors. The person in this position is expected to show and apply strong knowledge and leadership within the industrial electrical area.
