Role Description:

The Accounting and Treasury Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing the firm’s financial activities, in addition to assisting with accounting for the firm’s multitude of properties. This includes managing cash flow, recording income, and processing payments to vendors and investors. They are also responsible for accounts payable and receivable activities. In this role the ideal candidate will assist with monthly and annual forecasting as well as several treasury activities. The role is also responsible for communicating with external parties, such as vendors, investors, bankers, and auditors. This position supports the accounting team and reports directly to the Controller.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or treasury.
  • 2-3 years of real estate accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to perform accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash reconciliation functions.
  • Proven ability to assist with accounting functions for many properties concurrently.
  • Communicate well with third parties, such as vendors, investors, bankers, and auditors.
  • Entrepreneurial, confident, relationship-oriented, enthusiastic personality.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, networking and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with decision making and problem solving.
  • Strong working skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and accounting ERP systems (Yardi preferred).


Physical Requirements:

  • Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to converse with coworkers and clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Reviews all incoming and outgoing payments and financial transactions for accuracy.
  • Performs daily cash reconciliations and posts journal entries, as needed.
  • Reconciles several bank accounts each month.
  • Participates in monthly and annual cash forecasting while tracking budget verses actual.
  • Analyzes cash flow processes and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payable.
  • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Responsible for performing vendor management and provides customer service to vendors.
  • Reviews company’s credit card and employee expense report reconciliations to bill back properties.
  • Verifies all requests for electronic payments for accuracy and responsible for accurate initiation at the bank.
  • Works closely with the Controller to record all equity contributions and distributions
  • Sorts all incoming mail for the accounting team and uploads important documents to shared folders.
  • Maintains all wire instructions for several bank accounts while keeping information secure.
  • Verifies all wire instructions with external parties.
  • Prepares IRS form 1099 for all eligible vendors and investors.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with banking partners.
  • Other duties as assigned by Controller and senior management.
