Hamlyn Williams has partnered with a growing European investment bank to find an Operational Risk Associate with a focus in compliance and non-financial risk management.


Position Summary:

This role involves supporting a specialized team focused on overseeing risk-related functions for businesses in a North American setting. This team offers essential direction and support to help these businesses manage their risk exposures effectively, working closely with senior leadership.


Key Duties:

  • Assist in tracking and managing various risk-related activities and plans.
  • Collaborate with team members across different lines of responsibility to enhance risk management practices and provide support in identifying and addressing key risks and controls.
  • Ensure appropriate testing of controls is performed for relevant business areas.
  • Support risk management efforts by preparing and delivering reports to senior leadership, with a focus on analyzing data and making recommendations for risk control enhancements.
  • Provide timely and relevant updates to senior stakeholders, highlighting important themes and trends from risk events, issues, and other key indicators.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex technical matters, offering guidance to mitigate risk and improve partnerships.
  • Maintain communication with international colleagues to stay informed of changes affecting risk management practices.
  • Contribute to project-related activities as required.


Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in managing risk within a regulated financial services or broker-dealer environment.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment processes and relevant risk management systems.
  • Hands-on experience in maintaining an organization’s risk management framework and handling risk incidents.
  • Ability to provide effective training and guidance on risk policies is beneficial.
