Position Summary

We're seeking a full-time Senior Photoshoot Set Designer (official title: Senior Set Designer I) for our Los Angeles-based corporate office.


In this role, you'll be part of our Studio Team, collaborating with various departments to bring set designs to life for upcoming shoots. We're seeking someone who is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong sense of urgency to meet project deadlines.


Job Responsibilities

  • Build and set up each set design in accordance with the provided inspiration from our designers.
  • Collaborate with set design coordinators to prepare up to 9 sets daily for the following day's shoots.
  • Sets should be erected in advance and shared with our design teams for feedback and adjustments before the shoot.
  • Ability to closely replicate the provided inspiration using appropriate props, flooring, and backgrounds.
  • Communication with Studio Manager and set designers if team needs to alternative solutions during the set design process.
  • Proficient in sourcing and scouting locations, as well as identifying suitable shooting areas within those locations that enhance the desired atmosphere.
  • Ensure adherence to shoot budgets, maintaining a detailed budget log throughout the year to track expenditures and prevent exceeding allocated funds.


Job Requirements

  • Ideally possesses 3-5 years of experience in crafting set designs and buildouts.
  • Capable of proficiently leading a team, ensuring daily performance and efficiency, and providing constructive feedback as necessary.
  • Ability to research and creative problem-solving to execute each designer’s vision within budget constraints.
  • Willingness to travel to various on-location shoots.
  • Demonstrates self-initiative and adeptness in task prioritization to ensure thorough preparation for executing set designs.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills, adept at devising efficient solutions to uphold designer guidelines as closely as possible.
  • Experience in prop and location sourcing.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • This role involves heavy lifting.


Pay

$69,805.00 min. - $93,700.00 max annually. Bonus offered.
