Trade Support Analyst/Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trade Support Analyst/Associate to join a leading investment firm. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution, settlement, and reporting of trades, as well as supporting the firm’s investment and trading teams with middle-office operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial instruments, operational processes, and excellent analytical skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Support & Execution: Support the trading desk by ensuring timely and accurate trade capture, confirmation, and settlement of trades across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of trades, positions, and cash balances between internal records and external counterparties, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Settlement Management: Coordinate with brokers, custodians, and counterparties to ensure timely trade settlement and troubleshoot any settlement issues that may arise.
- Corporate Actions: Monitor and process corporate actions related to held securities, ensuring accurate adjustments and communication with relevant teams.
- Risk & Compliance Support: Work closely with risk management and compliance to ensure all trades are executed within regulatory guidelines and internal policies, supporting the firm’s risk management objectives.
- Trade Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trade and position reports for the investment team and senior management, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within middle office operations and work with the technology team to implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Relationship Management: Maintain effective communication and strong relationships with brokers, custodians, and other third-party service providers to facilitate efficient trade operations.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Support ad-hoc projects related to system upgrades, data analysis, and process reengineering as required by the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in trade support, middle office, or operations within an investment firm, asset management, or banking environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with order management systems (e.g., Charles River, Bloomberg AIM) and reconciliation software is a plus.
- Product Knowledge: Understanding of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Attributes: Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance & Risk Awareness: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management practices in trade operations.
