The Kay Unger brand is looking for a Design Assistant with 1+ years’ experience to support Design Director in the administrative process of seasonal design development (from concept to delivery).  


Responsibilities: 

  • Create and maintain tech packs, fabric cards and BOM in PLM system. 
  • Create and update line sheets for each season and ensure accuracy of plans and boards. 
  • Fabric development and sourcing which includes: ordering lab dips, strike offs and handlooms, coordinating, ordering and tracking sample yardage as well as maintaining and organizing fabric library. 
  • Tracking sample development including logging, tagging and steaming showroom samples. 
  • Communicating with factories, sales and merchandising. 
  • Assisting in researching trends for inspiration, color, and fabrics. 
  • Assist design according to style plans to ensure timely execution of product development calendar. 


Skills and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
  • Highly detail oriented, meticulous and self-motivated. 
  • Proficient in Adobe products and Microsoft Office. 
  • Knowledge of PLM system a plus.
