What You’ll Do:
As our Safety Coordinator, you will be the go-to expert for ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the plant. In this crucial role, you’ll:
- Conduct annual safety reviews and inspections, maintaining accurate records and communication with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff, focusing on OSHA, EPA, food safety regulations, and more. You'll also collaborate with external agencies for specialized training.
- Monitor employee safety practices and equipment usage, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Administer the ESA system, overseeing task management, incident reporting, and follow-up investigations.
- Play a key role in employee drug testing and assist with hiring processes.
- Lead safety committee meetings, drive problem resolution, and ensure all plant operations align with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in community and company meetings to further promote safety initiatives.
Who You Are:
We’re looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Ideal candidates will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or education in safety or compliance is a plus)
- 2+ years of experience in safety or environmental compliance (preferably within a manufacturing or plant setting)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, with familiarity in EPA, FSMA, SQF, NFPA, and PSM guidelines preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to lead training sessions and effectively communicate safety protocols
- A keen eye for detail, strong multitasking abilities, and flexibility to adapt to changing demands
- Valid Iowa driver’s license
