  • GFSI Audit experience: SQF or BRC or IFS or FSSC 22000 or QAS.

PLUSSES:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Plant Food Safety Quality and Sanitation (FSQS) Manager oversees food safety, quality, and sanitation programs at the facility. They assist Operations with quality and food safety improvements, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain GSFI practices. Responsibilities include supervising technicians, quality testing, handling customer complaints, and managing internal audits. They also act as the primary Safe Quality Food (SQF) practitioner for third-party audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development, training, execution, and validation of all site food safety, quality, and sanitation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and corporate programs. Lead and participate in audits and maintain FSQS programs.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external customers, overseeing the investigation and communication of consumer and customer complaints.
  • Analyze and communicate quality and food safety issues, and initiate corrective measures.
  • Develop and monitor plant sanitation and product safety programs, defining standards and best practices.
  • Lead risk assessment analysis and manage non-conforming product issues to minimize losses and drive improvements.
  • Interpret in-process and analytical data to make quality evaluations, recommend improvements, and coach others.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and provide solutions to quality and food safety issues.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and driving safe work behaviors.
  • Develop and present orientation and training on food safety and quality concepts, maintaining compliance with annual training requirements.
  • Monitor the Environmental Program, including process water and equipment sanitation.
  • Develop and monitor the department budget.
  • Promote efficient use of personnel through training, performance monitoring, and discipline.
  • Manage the department by setting goals, objectives, development plans, and coaching.
  • Encourage professional development of salaried subordinates.
  • Provide forward-thinking insights for future business improvements.
