Washington, United States International Campaign for Tibet Full time

The International Campaign for Tibet is searching for an experienced Communications Officer to drive strategic communications that support and advance ICT’s mission. This position will report to the President and be based in Washington, DC.

For more than 35 years, the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) has called the world’s attention to the injustices and brutalities imposed on the Tibetan people. Guided by the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, ICT is committed to securing the fundamental rights of all Tibetans and defending their unique identity and right to self-determination through worldwide advocacy, public education and youth leadership development.

ICT monitors and reports on human rights and environmental and socio-economic conditions in Tibet; advocates for Tibetans imprisoned for their political or religious beliefs; works with governments to develop policies and programs that help Tibetans; secures humanitarian and development assistance for Tibetans; and works with Chinese institutions and civic leaders to build understanding, trust and relationships between Tibetan and Chinese people. ICT mobilizes the international community to engage in nonviolent action on behalf of Tibetans; and ICT promotes self-determination for the Tibetan people through negotiations between the Chinese government and the representatives of the Dalai Lama and the elected leaders of the Tibetan people.

Founded in 1988, ICT, a 501(c)(3) organization, maintains offices in Washington, DC, Amsterdam, Berlin and Brussels with a field office in Dharamsala, India.
