Position Overview:


As a Package Quality Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the quality management of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) package for a high-profile offshore wind farm.

This role involves leading multi million-dollar projects, working with international teams, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are met.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Coordination: Lead quality work scopes, ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders and adherence to all requirements. Collaborate with teams across Project Management, Quality, Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction, Supply & Expediting, Transport & Installation, Commissioning, Project Controls, Contracts, Legal, and Procurement.
  • Quality Management: Drive projects to completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and HSE standards. Develop and maintain project quality schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Organizational Management: Design and manage an effective organizational structure for the WTG package, utilizing resources across Europe and the USA. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across international teams.
  • Strategic Advice: Provide strategic delivery advice, conduct risk assessments, and offer recommendations throughout the project lifecycle. Influence bid levels, program strategies, and commercial agreements to maximize value from a quality perspective.
  • Risk Management: Manage project risks related to the offshore wind industry, including manufacturing, quality assurance/quality control, and supply chain challenges.
  • Standards & Practices: Implement offshore standards, procedures, tools, and best practices for large-scale projects, specifically in offshore wind.
  • Continuous Improvement: Capture and share lessons learned from offshore delivery projects. Establish feedback loops and best practices to enhance business value. Implement innovations in offshore wind technology and construction methodologies.
  • Package Leadership: Act as a core member of the Package Leadership Team, making key project and strategic decisions to ensure optimal investment value. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.


Position Requirements:

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Maintain the QMS for the WTG package and provide training to project personnel on its requirements and benefits.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Ensure quality deliverables, materials, and services across all phases of the package. Conduct continuous assessments and audits.

Lessons Learned:

  • Implement mitigation measures from previous projects and capture new lessons learned during the project.
  • Inspection Coordination: Lead and coordinate quality site inspectors at different manufacturing locations. Attend supplier meetings and provide quality control oversight.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure quality documentation and reports are produced, verified, and reviewed by competent personnel. Work closely with Document Control to maintain accurate records and traceability.
  • Integrated Site Services: Manage integrated site services for the package and ensure inspectors have necessary instructions and access to project procedures.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a high standard of health and safety throughout the project. •


Problem-Solving & Innovation:

  • Anticipate and resolve issues proactively. Innovate to address conflicting requirements and improve project outcomes. Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience: 5-8 years managing quality for turbine supply and installation, preferably in offshore wind projects. Experience in quality assurance/control.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (QM, PE) preferred.
  • People Management: Effective management of diverse, multinational teams, including remote teams.
  • Delivery & Contracting: Expertise in planning, tendering, contract management, and multi-million dollar contract delivery. Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines.
  • HSE Knowledge: Familiarity with HSE legislation related to marine and offshore projects. Understanding of offshore safety standards (GWO).
  • Specialized Training: Preferably certified through a quality body (e.g., EOQ, ASQ). Quality Auditor certification and Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, team coordination, problem-solving, and tenacity. Ability to manage complex projects and make strategic decisions.
