Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and analytical Operations Manager with a strong background in purchasing and inventory management to join our team. This role is crucial for overseeing our company’s day-to-day operational functions, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining optimal operational flow. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing supply chains, negotiating with suppliers, and improving operational processes.


Salary: $90,000 to commensurate


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implement processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity across company operations.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary.
  • Drafts and/or reviews supply and service specifications.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Evaluates purchase orders, ensuring compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
  • Distributes purchasing information to involved parties including vendors, sales representatives, and employees.
  • Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with vendors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role with strong emphasis on purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in ERP software and use of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in operations management, supply chain management, facility maintenance, general management and/or purchasing management is required.
