Overview of your role

This position is responsible for growing and managing the sale of Solmax’s geosynthetic products within a multi-state region. The role involves direct interaction with a comprehensive distribution network, as well as engagement with owners, developers, and contractors on earthwork projects where geosynthetics may be utilized. The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Commercial Director.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a robust distribution network to ensure that all Solmax market segments are represented in key geographic areas within the region.
  • Provide necessary training on Solmax products to enhance product knowledge and application among the customer base.
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales Rep, Engineering Business Manager, LCS Area Manager, Engineered Structures Manager, and other sales personnel to develop and implement both short-term and long-term regional strategies, ensuring progress is monitored and objectives are met.
  • Lead the sales process for projects, beginning with the “30 days to bid” timeline in CRM, and engage EBMs and sales personnel to maximize project success.
  • Coordinate with Product Management on activities related to forecasting, production planning, inventory control, and sourcing of external products.
  • Manage regional pricing strategies to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • Achieve sales targets as set by the Commercial Director, with regular reviews to ensure performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Handle regional sales details such as deductions, claims, receivables, contracts, and rebates, ensuring they are managed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Resolve customer claims promptly and fairly to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Prepare and submit a monthly sales forecast, providing accurate and timely insights into regional performance.
  • Fully utilize CRM tools to manage regional activities, including tracking opportunities, customers, and projects.
  • Oversee the regional sales expense budget, ensuring prudent use of travel and entertainment expenses.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years proven success in exceeding revenue targets and achieving compounded growth objectives (geosynthetics industry is preferred)
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with team members and customers
  • Goal oriented, high energy and enthusiastic
  • Computer proficiency with CRM, SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
  • Ability to travel up to 50-70 percent
  • Thorough knowledge of Solmax products
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
