Worrell Contracting Co., Inc was founded on January 1, 1998. In 2000, Worrell Contracting was legally formed as a corporation. Worrell Contracting is a certified Serviced Disabled Veteran-Owned Business contractor, North Carolina and SBA HUBZone certified contractor and a Licensed General Highway and Public Utilities (Water & Sewer Lines) Contractor for the State of North Carolina. We maintain the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, honesty, and fairness in our relationships with our suppliers, subcontractors, professional associates and customers.
Job Overview: We are seeking a Construction Site Superintendent to play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of construction projects from initiation to completion. This role demands strong leadership skills, impeccable organization, and a deep understanding of construction processes. The Site Superintendent ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Coordinate and manage all aspects of the construction project, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Supervision: Direct and supervise onsite construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is executed according to project plans and specifications.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure workmanship meets project requirements and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor daily construction activities, track progress, and address any issues or delays that may arise to keep the project on schedule.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the construction team, project stakeholders, and management, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential obstacles or challenges and develop proactive solutions to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of project activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and relevant documentation.
- Cost Management: Monitor project expenses, track costs, and identify opportunities to optimize spending to ensure the project stays within budget.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, environmental requirements, and other applicable laws and regulations throughout the construction process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field; or graduate from a technical school in a construction related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Construction Site Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Completion of the 30-hour OSHA certification (preferred).
