  • Candidates must reside in Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia.
  • This is a typical Monday – Friday, first shift position – 8:00am – 5:00pm (EST).

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Reporting Analyst to join their team and manage critical data reporting tasks. This role is integral to the daily operations of the reporting team, particularly in handling Tier 1 cases, ad hoc reporting, and monthly reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, particularly with Excel and Microsoft Access, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where they will need to pivot quickly between tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Initial Focus (First 2-3 Months):
  • Handle Tier 1 cases received through Salesforce, the primary ticketing system - Examples of cases include requests for member claims over a specific period or claims filtered by specific codes.
  • Work closely with a trainer on "Ad Hoc" cases for cross-training and knowledge sharing.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day Tier 1 ticket requests within Salesforce.
  • Execute ad hoc reporting and file sending.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly reports.
  • By October/November, take on month-end reporting responsibilities.

Reporting and Data Management:

  • Analyze and report on data using advanced Excel functions.
  • Utilize Microsoft Access for database management and reporting tasks.
  • Use SQL for data querying and manipulation to support reporting needs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree [4 years of additional experience is needed in lieu of a bachelor's degree]
  • 3-5 years of experience in database development and/or data analysis.
  • 2+ years experience with SQL
  • Experience using T-SQL for the purposes of creating tables in SQL Server.
  • Experience creating SQL queries.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.) for advanced reporting.
  • Experience using Microsoft Access.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide premier service to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience using Salesforce is extremely beneficial.
  • Experience in the healthcare/health insurance industry is extremely beneficial.
  • Experience working in a data warehouse environment.
  • Experience using Power BI.
  • Experience using ETL tools.
