GENERAL FUNCTION: The Senior Process Engineer supports display production and drives yield and process improvements on products and systems. Identify and implement root cause solutions to yield loss mechanisms through statistical data analysis and failure analysis techniques. Lead continuous improvement projects on products and processes for improved yield, cost, and quality by partnering with the product development, test, and process engineering and quality groups.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead projects to improve yield and reduce scrap by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Refine and sustain manufacturing processes to improve process capability for micro-display production
  • Develop and communicate yield analyses to various teams and senior management
  • Lead new equipment acquisitions and qualifications
  • Develop novel processes for new display development
  • Analyze and identify the origin of defects in the line utilizing various materials characterization techniques
  • Expert use of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to monitor and evaluate specific process yields and data trends


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Kopin is a defense contractor and is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position.BS degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Materials science and engineering field
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume semiconductor or display manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of physics of semiconductor processing and micro-displays processing
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis, SPC, and testing methods
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to lead improvement initiatives
  • Solid understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques, design of experiments (DOE).


PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • MS degree or higher in Engineering and Science preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a cleanroom environment and office environment and requires the ability to operate standard semiconductor and office equipment. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages, and other items, walk short distances, and gown according to clean room protocols as required. Ability to travel.
