Summary:

Our client, a high growth public company, is looking for an In-House Labor and Employment Counsel to manage and oversee all labor and employment-related legal matters. This role involves providing strategic legal advice, managing litigation, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and developing policies and procedures to support our business objectives. The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000, highly commensurate on years of relevant experience.


Note: This is NOT a remote role. It is hybrid out of the company's office in Tampa.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including employee relations, wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and labor relations.
  • Manage and oversee employment litigation, including coordinating with external counsel, conducting internal investigations, and representing the company in legal proceedings.
  • Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Collaborate with HR and management on labor relations issues, including collective bargaining, union negotiations, and grievance procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in labor and employment laws and regulations, and advise on necessary adjustments to company policies and practices.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Previous law firm experience is a must.
  • Admission to the state bar in Florida.
  • 2-8 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
