The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with daily operations of American Songwriter’s entire community. This includes all contests, including managing participant inquiries, promotion across multiple platforms, and supporting the subscriber community. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity in content creation, technical ability, and the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a passion for the music industry. American Songwriter is a 40 year old music brand focused on celebrating the craft of music. 


Key Responsibilities:


Customer Support & Communication:

  • Management of American Songwriter’s support channels.
  • Working with the editorial team on inbound press inquiries.
  • Help maintain and QC all contest workflows and supporting technology. 


Contest Promotions & Judging:

  • Work directly with the Contest Manager to help create and execute promotion campaigns across various platforms. 
  • Assist in talent acquisition for contests and judge panels. 
  • Provide oversight and assistance to our internal screening committee. 


Social Media Management:

  • Full management of social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X.
  • Create copy & posts, track analytics, and prepare growth plans per social channel. 


Marketing & Content Creation:

  • Assist with marketing ideation for contests and membership.
  • Research and conduct industry strategic partnership outreach.
  • Content capture at live events (e.g., CMA Fest, AmericanaFest).


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Music Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in music, marketing, or social media management.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Proficiency in design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Asana, Slack, Canva
  • Passion for music and the music industry.
  • Located in the greater Nashville area.
