Position Overview:

IFO Group is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and addresses their most complex challenges. The selected candidate will be involved in technically challenging site investigation and remediation projects, with a focus on catastrophic events, environmental compliance, and industrial safety.


Key Responsibilities:

Field Work & Site Investigations: Perform environmental sampling (e.g., surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, indoor air) and oversee subcontractors in the field. The position requires approximately 70% field work with travel, including overnight stays, potentially for extended periods.

Project Execution: Implement project work associated with multimedia (air, water, soil, and biota) investigations and remediation. Work on project sites around construction equipment, drilling rigs, and areas with environmental contamination.

Documentation & Reporting: Complete detailed field notes and other forms of documentation to accurately capture field activities and observations.

Communication & Coordination: Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, management, clients, and regulators. Assist in project planning with labs, drillers, and equipment vendors as needed.

Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and passing required physical exams.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.

1-3 years of relevant experience in environmental sampling, site investigation, or remediation.

Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, with the ability to travel and stay overnight as required.

Ability to lift 50 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods.

Must pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
