The BAS Specialist is responsible for performing start-up and commissioning of Building Automation Systems and related equipment in new construction and renovation projects, and existing customer facilities. They will support the verification of system databases and programming, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and engineered sequence of operations. The System Specialist will implement and configure building infrastructure network to facilitate the integration of smart building technologies.


Duties:

  • Performs the verification of the system database and programming, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and engineered sequence of operations
  • Configures building infrastructure networks to facilitate the integration of smart building technologies.
  • Supports troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations
  • Performs the set-up and configuration of network devices, workstations and user interfaces
  • Commissions proper network performance
  • Performs operational testing, verification, and acceptance providing reports to review system operation
  • Participate in final inspection and testing in coordination with 3rd party commissioning authorities
  • Ensure customer acceptance and participate in customer training on system operations
  • Complete and submit written reports, and provide field modifications and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings


Experience/Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Systems, Facilities Management, Networking, or IT. Minimum of 2 years’ experience writing computer programs and working with software applications related to Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Proven experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols, such as BACNet, LON, Modbus, KNX, XML, etc
  • Siemens programming certification, ABB programming certification, Niagara N4/AX certification, Tridium certification or other automation vendor professional certification (advanced programming certification preferred with Siemens and Tridium).
  • Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent experience, preferred.
