PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for leadership and initiative in all matters affecting Blending operations.

Exhibit strong “ownership” of blending operations using a hands-on approach to

management. Demonstrate proactive, positive, “can-do” leadership by setting an

example for subordinates to follow. Plan, organize and manage employees and

equipment in order to meet quality/regulatory objectives, production schedules, and

cost targets.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Subordinates:

• Direct/Schedule and plan daily activities of department employees.

• Assure employees maintain a high emphasis on Quality, Cleaning and Sanitization.

• Provide proper training and insure strict adherence to cGMP Practices, Batch

Records, SOP's, Company Policies, Governmental Regulations and Safety Policies.

• Ensures that all employees meet the productivity and efficiency standards of the

organization.

• Develop all members of the department for growth in the company and or their

career path.

• Resolve employee conflicts, Coach to success

• Interview candidates for open positions within the department

• Daily work assignments to staff within the department based on filling needs.

Administrative:

• Responsible for investigating non-conformances.

• Follow up department Audits and response to documentation errors

• Operate a productive and efficient manufacturing environment utilizing time

management and

effective deployment of available resources.

• Maintain department supplies and control operations cost.

• Monitor and Maintain time and attendance records for employees as well as

ensuring staffing is available by approving the use of PTO.

• Coaching supervisors to meet department objectives

• Assist in writing and developing Batch Records, SOP's, Work Instructions and

Safety Procedures.

• Assure proper management of inventory materials.

• Develop and Implement changes that will improve the efficiency and/or

productivity of the department.

• Reduce operational cost via process improvement.

• Set department goals and establish standards that assure a quality product is being

produced.

• Lead by example so all within the department flourish.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

Management of resources including people and equipment.

Blending processes including cooling and heating as well as injection and circulatory

processes.

Material handling experience as well as Forklift.

General Weights and Measures

Working with scales and other measuring instruments such as PH meters, viscometers.

Potential exists for exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.

Minimum 5 years chemical compounding experience

Preferred Additional

Familiar with CFR Title 21 Food and Drug part 210 and 211

Working knowledge of CFR 29 1910…General Industry OSHA as well as PPE.

Knowledge of chemical reactions

Understanding of MSDS sheets.

Basic Math

Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions.

Technical Skills and Experience
