MAINTENANCE MANAGER Los Angeles
SALARY RANGE: $125k + bonus
This position is responsible and accountable for plant maintenance and engineering activities for a High-Speed Bakery to ensure the best quality. Activities include the maintenance of all plant systems, development and scheduling of preventative maintenance programs, equipment and facility repairs, equipment engineering and installation, hiring and training of all mechanics.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Five or more years in a manufacturing environment
- Three or more years high-speed bakery experience, preferable
- Experience with: ammonia refrigeration systems, control panels, spiral freezers, food manufacturing
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine/schedule/prioritize/execute and ensure equipment maintenance and repairs are current at all times to ensure quality of products and meet scheduled output requirements
- Purchase and maintain inventory for all repair and maintenance parts, including locating suppliers, evaluating competitive bids and receiving parts
- Supervise, train and coordinate staff of maintenance mechanics to accomplish all maintenance department objectives and work requirements, including training. Leadership of this team includes staffing and all required disciplinary and development activity
- Coordinate with 3rd party vendors on all critical systems including ammonia refrigeration, confined space protocols, etc. Comply with all CALOSHA/OSHA requirements
- Advise/recommend/design equipment modifications and additions to improve quality, safety, efficiency and performance
- Maintain all records of repairs, preventative maintenance, purchase of parts and parts inventory
- Develop and implement advanced productivity programs such as preventative maintenance, total productive maintenance
- Maintain safety program in department including monthly meetings with staff, training and regular discussions concerning plant-wide safety issues
- Prepare budgets, project cost estimates, etc. for financial planning and obtain approval
- Coordinate work of outside contractors
Respond to emergency breakdowns. (24 hr. on call)
