Position Purpose: Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods using established testing protocols and equipment.* Coordinate product sampling and sample submission to a 3rd party laboratory.* Document and report any deviations from established quality standards to production and management teams.* Perform and maintain records of daily calibration checks on scales and other equipment (when applicable).* Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, safety, and efficiency.* Conduct audits of production processes, including sanitation and hygiene practices, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.* Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to product quality and safety.* Collaborate with production teams to ensure that product specifications and quality standards are met consistently.* Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment and ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards, testing procedures, and documentation requirements.* Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in quality assurance.* *Denotes food safety responsibilities Work Experience Requirements: Minimum of two years’ experience in a quality assurance role in a food manufacturing environment required. Working knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards including HACCP, BRC, and cGMPs. Ability to perform laboratory tests and measurements and use laboratory equipment effectively and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and communicate quality issues effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems and quality management software preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift or move up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks. The successful candidate must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including a lab coat, gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses due to personal and seasoning/ingredient safety. Department: Quality Reports To: Director of Quality Assurance Backup: Quality Supervisor Hourly Rate: $20.00-25.00 per hour Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and 401K Working Conditions: This position requires working in a laboratory and production environment. The successful candidate must be able to start with a day shift position and be able to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. The successful candidate will need to be able to work in multiple locations as needed. (Exton and Pottstown) Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, or a related field a plus.
