Event Sales Manager

The Maxwell is seeking a highly motivated Sales Manager.


Applicants must have a deep appreciation for sales and a great work ethic. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. This position also offers a competitive salary with a commission bonus structure. The Senior Sales Manager will work to create packages and develop contracts which reflect what we are best able to do as a whole operation. The ideal candidate will be interested in a career in hospitality sales and marketing and will be comfortable dealing directly with diverse clientele & staff.


The company is looking for a skilled candidate with experience on navigating a variety of clients and preferences. Must be willing to go the extra mile and understand that sales is simply not a 9-5 job.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Schedule and give tours to prospective clients, highlighting venue amenities
  • Communicate the booking process and venue policies to prospective clients
  • Create event proposals and guide clients from inquiry to booking
  • Look for and pursue opportunities to grow business through outreach, attending networking events, and supporting community efforts
  • Communicate with clients via telephone, email, and face-to-face interaction
  • Manage and maintain events calendar as well as overall communication of event details to events director, event managers and food and beverage teams
  • Support marketing efforts through social media
  • Coordinate & promote seasonal open houses
  • Other responsibilities as it relates to building the business


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associates degree or higher
  • At least two years of experience in a sales role is required. Sales within the wedding, events, or hospitality industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and expectations.
  • Experience and a comfort level with social media tools and techniques
  • An outgoing personality and outstanding communication skills both in person and electronically.
  • Positive attitude, heightened sense of urgency, and self motivated
  • Ability to adapt to a rotating and often demanding schedule based on client tour requests
  • Customer service and sales experience preferred
  • Previous event management experience and strong leadership is a plus
  • Experience with CRM Tools
