We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Immunologist to spearhead our cutting-edge immunology research in the Research and Preclinical Division. The successful candidate will work on unpuzzling mechanisms of how our candidate drugs can be good therapeutic agents for various of the auto-immune diseases, including but not limited to Lupus, Multiple sclerosis, Inflammatory bowel disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory myopathies (Polymyositis and dermatomyositis) etc. The candidate would evaluate the animal models in these disease areas, design animal model study with CRO using various of our drug candidates, analyze the post-in-life samples in house, as well as develop in cell based immunology assays. The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in immunology or a related field but with Ph.D. or postdoctoral training on auto-immune diseases; possess expertise in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, and the ability to design and direct of key experiments in vitro and in vivo to advance the projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Make study plans, design and conduct experiments to explore the mechanism of action (MOA) studies with our investigational drugs.
  • Evaluate, assist-purchase and maintain immunology systems and equipment needed for research purposes.
  • Lead immunology efforts on design, optimize and conduct in house immunology in-vitro and in-vivo assay and help support animal efficacy model study design related to autoimmune diseases.
  • Lead and monitor the junior scientists or contracted research organizations (CROs) for pilot proof of concept studies, in-vitro, in-vivo assays, autoimmune animal efficacy model studies.
  • Collaborate with academic laboratories to expand our research capabilities and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Summarize the results and prepare formal reports to SVP, Head of Research and Preclinical, Chief CMC Officer.


Requirements:

Ph.D. in immunology, or post-doctoral training in auto-immune diseases.

Experience with drug development in immunology field. Preferred to work with one or several auto-immune disease models.

Experience with independently leading projects. Experience of dealing with the CRO is a plus.

Experience with studying the MOA using in-vitro and in-vivo tools.

Knowledge of biosafety procedures, to ensure safe research practices.

Familiarity with flow cytometry and software, such as FlowFACS etc.
