Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement of steel tubing and other metal components, managing an annual budget of approximately $20M. Source materials from multiple suppliers to meet production needs.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable pricing and terms. Aim for cost efficiency while ensuring that quality standards are met.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Plant Managers to understand manufacturing requirements. Adjust procurement strategies based on current and future needs.
  • Centralization of Contracts: Streamline purchasing operations by centralizing contracts, enhancing consistency across all plant locations.
  • Supplier Coordination: Resolve issues with suppliers and optimize delivery schedules to align with production demands. Maintain strong, effective supplier relationships.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, pricing, and evaluations of supplier performance.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in procurement, with a focus on purchasing steel or similar commodities.
  • Skills:
    • Proven negotiation skills.
    • Experience in managing supplier relationships.
    • Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
