The Role


DNA Electronics (DNAe) is a dynamic company integrating cutting edge sequencing technologies with novel biochemical techniques to create a revolutionary sample-to-answer sequencing platform. We are seeking a strong individual to contribute to the DNAe team. The right candidate will be self-starting, detail-oriented, and able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


Responsibilities


  • Develop infectious disease molecular assays with knowledge of real-time PCR and NGS workflows.
  • Ability to work with human samples including whole blood.
  • Perform experiments and procedures in accordance with guidance from supervisor or from written protocols.
  • Documenting, reporting and presenting results of experiments and procedures.
  • Following work instructions and SOPs, documenting procedures as required by ISO 13485 quality management systems.
  • Assisting in maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate also likes to contribute to solving problems outside their field of immediate expertise and is an effective communicator.


Education & Experience


  • BS with 4+ years’ experience or MS with 2+ years’ in applicable life sciences (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or Immunology)
  • Assay Development and PCR experience required
  • Experience with NGS workflows and knowledge preferred
  • Work within design control and GLP environments preferred
  • Ability to plan experiments with oversight
  • Hands-on involvement with common molecular biology techniques
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to present work to the broader team

DNAe is committed to offering staff a competitive remuneration package, alongside compelling benefits. As the primary part of the process, we conduct a rigorous market data review where each role is individually benchmarked using a vast amount of recent data. The estimated base salary range for the Process Development Engineer role based in Carlsbad, California is: $75,000 to $85,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly.
