Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Single Cell and Spatial Multiomics

Three Dimension Genomics (3DG) is a Contract Research Organization conducting single cell and spatial multiomics studies for pharma, biotech and academic clients. Single cell multiomics measures multiple properties of individual cells at genome scale, with emphasis on whole transcriptomes. Spatial multiomics is similar but retains the spatial context of tissues.The research culture is fast-moving and suitable for highly motivated, creative and detail oriented laboratory scientists that can manage multiple tasks in multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
We are seeking a PhD level scientist to conduct a broad range of tasks in the single cell and spatial multiomics workflow, depending on project needs and the candidate’s expertise and interests. It is not expected that candidates have expertise in all of them, however, hands-on experience or particular interest in any of these areas should be noted in the cover letter. The position is well suited for highly self motivated scientists that are enthusiastic about learning new technical and professional skills.
Potential responsibilities include:
Histology: FFPE and cryosectioning, H&E and IF staining, FL and BF imaging and image processing.
Molecular biology: 10XGenomics single cell and spatial workflows.
Bioinformatics: Navigate and run complex data processing commands in linux and R (cellranger, spaceranger, Seurat, scanpy, other tools to identify doublets, cell types, etc.)
Communications: Create whitepapers and webinars highlighting applications of single-cell/spatial technologies, or identify and engage scientific experts for that purpose.
This position requires a high degree of organization and accountability, scientific expertise and excellent communication skills. As a contract research partner we work with client materials that are both precious and irreplaceable, requiring bench level science at the highest standard of technical execution. Industry experience is highly desirable.
Job Requirements:
· Must be an MD or PhD in a biomedical field with significant research laboratory experience.
· Must be able to meet time and performance goals of the team.
· Able to clearly and concisely communicate project goals, strategy and progress in project proposals, written reports and verbal presentations, both internally and externally.
This is a full time, on-site position at our Carlsbad, CA laboratory. Remote work is not offered.
