We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Advisor with extensive hedge fund experience to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in advancing our data initiatives, driving strategic insights, and fostering innovation across our projects.

Job Summary:

The Senior Data Advisor will leverage their expertise in hedge funds and financial markets to guide data acquisition strategies, optimize decision-making processes, and enhance operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data analytics, financial markets, and hedge fund operations, with a proven ability to translate data into actionable insights. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and government partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement a data strategy that aligns with ANDECO’s and the government’s strategic goals.
  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Apply advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and quantitative analysis to derive insights from complex financial datasets.
  • Data Integration: Manage and integrate diverse data sources, ensuring high standards of data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Vendor Sourcing: Identify and establish relationships with unique data vendors in the financial and hedge fund sectors to ensure access to high-quality, proprietary data.
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Risk Management: Enhance risk management frameworks with data-driven approaches to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Innovation & Technology: Stay current with the latest data analytics tools and technologies, and recommend their adoption to improve capabilities.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior data analysts and researchers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and government partners to ensure seamless data flow and integration across organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a hedge fund or similar financial institution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL), data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
  • Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and hedge fund operations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
