Cambridge, United States Boston Technology Law PLLC Full time

This is a full-time position for a 7+ year Attorney/Corporate Counsel at Boston Technology Law, PLLC. The position allows full-time remote work and involves advising a variety of technology companies – including early-stage startups, private equity, and venture-backed high-growth companies, and publicly traded household name companies.  Representative client fields include alternative energy, medical devices, software development, software as a service (SaaS), chip manufacture, online education, logistics, retail, artificial intelligence, and voice authentication technology.  We assist clients on day-to-day commercial and licensing transactions, privacy and intellectual property matters, government contracting, basic employment and corporate formation and governance issues, and other matters of the type that would usually be handled by in-house counsel.

We seek lawyers who are hard-working but appreciate a work-life balance, have high integrity and good judgment, and are team-oriented with a sense of humor.  Solid academic credentials and previous experience both with a firm and in-house are preferred. We are looking for lawyers who bring a solid knowledge of the legal basics, tempered by business and industry experience to provide practical advice for an interesting and appreciative client base.

The firm is designed to allow exceptional attorneys with technology transactions and in-house skills to work remotely while retaining work-life balance by sharing client demands with other equally experienced counsel. In an area often serviced by solo practitioners, we offer a cadre of like-minded professionals to discuss tricky situations, bounce ideas off of, and arrange coverage so that you can actually take a vacation from time to time and turn off your phone. We also hire and develop select associate attorneys and staff to support us in this team practice.

Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience. Our salary structure is determined based on the billable rate you can command and how many hours you expect to bill in a year. As an example, a senior attorney billing 1,600 hours should generally fall between $250K - $300K, inclusive of a bonus. We offer a full set of benefits.

This position may be located anywhere within the United States, but preference will be given to applicants who are in Boston or are able to be present in person in Boston from time to time. Business generation is not necessary for this role, but attorneys with portable business are encouraged to apply.

This is a great opportunity to join an established tech transactions boutique with A-list clients and a collegial team.
