Position Summary:

The position will work directly with the Vice President of Sales ( "VPOS”) and play a vital role in maintaining pricing models and tools, development of revenue projections for the Annual Operating Plan ( "AOP”) and monthly forecast updates and monthly reporting of actual results vs projections. Individuals within this position should be capable of handling large quantities of data and provide insights into trends.


Essential Functions:

  • Consistently demonstrate commitment and support for the Sterling vision, mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs work in compliance with work instructions and policies as outlined by management.
  • Prepares certain quantitative reports for presentation to management, the Board of Directors, or other key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Compile and analyze precise sales data to identify trends and patterns, offering insights to boost sales and organizational growth.
  • Assist in creating KPI sales dashboards that reveal actionable insights to maximize the sales team's effectiveness.
  • Conduct intricate customer analysis and data filtering to gauge customer profitability.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to streamline workflows, as well as increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs and provide regular performance updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the VPOS to devise growth strategies, projections, and targets tailored to specific customers, segments, and products.
  • Track performance against forecasts and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between other departments to facilitate communication and coordination, while working with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and achieve common goals.
  • Develop and maintain pricing tools and profitability models.
  • Forecast margins to help the business understand the impact of various pricing strategies.
  • Communicate and help implement pricing changes through the command chain.
  • Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the industry via information obtained from financial publications and services, government agencies, company sources, and personal interviews.
  • Lead pricing-related projects including establishing timelines, defining deliverables, and drafting communications or presentations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, customer-centricity, and compliance.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to support departmental needs and overall business goals.
  • Cross train within the team, and across other departments, to provide backup support throughout the department.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related quantitative field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' previous financial analysis, pricing modeling experience is required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing and construction experience is preferred.
  • Expert Excel knowledge is required (formulas, pivot tables, data connections, macros, and automation).
  • Proficiency in database access and reporting from multiple ERP's, and experience with business intelligence tools.
  • Intermediate PowerPoint skills (ability to create and manipulate decks, add charts and other visuals).
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Quantitative problem solver and analytical thinker who can draw conclusions from multiple data sources.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, and embraces change and the challenge to innovate that comes with it.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Work Environment:

This position is primarily located within an office although will be required to go out onto the production floor, travel on occasion including to field and site locations.
