Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team as our first internal hire focused on new product development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product line and make a substantial impact on the company's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of firmware for new consumer electronics products.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to define product specifications and requirements.
- Design and develop PCBs, ensuring optimal integration with firmware and hardware components.
- Optimize firmware to ensure high performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded systems and PCBs to ensure robust and reliable operation.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in firmware development and PCB design.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers as the team grows, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in firmware development, with a focus on consumer electronics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and hardware-software integration.
- Extensive experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle).
- Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and various communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
- Proven track record of successfully bringing products from concept to market.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with wireless communication technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, etc.).
- Knowledge of low-power design and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- IoT Experience.
