HireVenture is seeking a highly skilled Principal Firmware Engineer to lead the development and implementation of firmware for cutting-edge consumer products.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of firmware for consumer goods products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement product requirements, and developing and maintaining firmware architecture to ensure scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of firmware for consumer goods products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain firmware architecture to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex firmware issues.
  • Implement and optimize low-power design techniques for battery-operated devices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in firmware development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant firmware development experience, with a focus on new product design and development.
  • Strong experience in C and C++ programming languages.
  • Proficient in developing firmware for embedded microcontrollers (ARM Cortex M0-M33).
  • Experience with RTOS-based firmware development.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, including cryptographic algorithms and secure boot protocols.
  • Knowledge of low power design practices and experience with battery-operated consumer devices.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, team player with a strong desire to learn new skills and grow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) development.
  • Familiarity with BuildKite or other continuous integration platforms.
  • Previous experience in the consumer goods industry.
  • Experience with PCB hardware bring-up and working closely with EE teams.
