Job Description:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Scanning Operator to join our team at the Virginia Department of Health. This role involves working on a long-term project with Xerox, where you will be responsible for scanning various types of documents while ensuring the highest quality and accuracy.


Key Responsibilities:


- **Document Preparation:** Move boxes and load paper into scanning machines as required.

- **Scanning Operations:** Perform scanning tasks on different types of documents, ensuring proper handling and organization.

- **Machine Operation:** Navigate between various scanning machines, demonstrating dexterity and agility.

- **Problem-Solving:** Address and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the scanning process.

- **Training & Support:** Assist in teaching best practices for scanning and machine operation to new team members.

- **Communication:** Maintain clear written and verbal communication with team members and supervisors.

- **Information Comprehension:** Understand and follow detailed instructions regarding document handling and scanning protocols.


Qualifications:


- Previous experience as a Printer Technician, Scanning Technician, Document Imaging Specialist, or in a similar role.

- Strong finger dexterity and the ability to handle various document sizes and types.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- High level of mental acuity and attention to detail.


Physical Requirements:


- Ability to lift and move boxes as necessary.

- Comfort with repetitive tasks and movement between machines.
