Insight Global's client is a leading Missouri mortgage creditor rights firm and are looking for a full time Attorney for its Overland Park, Kansas office. The firm specializes in real estate matters and representing mortgage lenders. Primary duties will include real estate and mortgage related matters mostly related to default services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the area of practice you are assigned to manage. Implement effective scheduling and follow up on files within your practice area.
  • Manage staff assigned to your practice area.
  • Ensure that files assigned to your practice area are timely processed and that the firm is providing sound and accurate legal representation as to those files.
  • Meet all client, court and internal timelines and deadlines.
  • Account accurately for all time and expenses on each matter.
  • Full time attorneys should maintain at least 2200 hours of logged time for the office each year.
  • Comply with all Supreme Court rules that regulate attorney conduct in each state in which you practice.
  • Timely bill all matters for which you are responsible.
  • Maintain procedures and safeguard to protect client confidentiality. Avoid all conflicts of interest in representing clients.
  • Escalate issues to managing attorneys for matters in which client relationships may be negatively impacted or matters in which the firm may experience liability.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 yrs of experience
  • Barred in Kansas


Plusses:

  • Some experience with real estate, can be real estate with reviewing mortgage documents (plaintiff or defense) or bankruptcy, collections, title, property litigation, etc.
  • Litigation background and comfortable in a courtroom.
  • Licensed in MO or willing to become licensed.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

  • Bonus based off firm performance and individual performance.

Benefits package for this role include: medical, dental, vision, 70% and 20% on dependent care, Life and ADD policy, short and long term disability, retirement is split profit sharing – 401k match up to 4%, 3+ weeks of PTO (as long as the in-office requirement of 2200 hours a year is met--this includes court appearances, lunch, meetings, etc.)
