We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who is obsessed with producing high quality medical devices. In this role, you will work closely with our brilliant technicians and subcontractors to manufacture life-changing FDA Cleared Class I and II devices. You will also work with our highly specialized engineering team to develop mechanical designs and transfer the design of products ready for commercialization, to manufacturing. This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking for a role that combines leadership skills with a keen eye for detail to deliver prosthetic technologies that will help people get back to living their lives again.  


You Will:

  • Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production staff to deliver products on time and with high quality
  • Plan, manage and oversee all elements of production of electronic medical devices under a strict Quality Management System
  • Develop assembly procedures for medical device manufacturing
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, scheduling, planning and forecasting for products and research projects
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors and external production houses
  • Assess, analyze, optimize and update current production methods and workflows
  • Communicate with upper management on production health
  • Work with product development team to transfer design to manufacturing
  • Assemble electronic medical devices (soldering, circuit programming, and mechanical assembly)


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing in a regulated industry
  • Hands-on experience building small electronic products (i.e. experience handling PCBs, soldering skills, circuity analysis tools)
  • Experience establishing new and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Work experience using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to commute to our office in Baltimore, Maryland


Nice to Haves:

  • Experience using a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software for inventory management, purchasing, scheduling, planning, and forecasting
  • Experience working at a medical device company
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience working under a QMS compliant with cGMP, 21 CFR 820, ISO13485
