JOB DESCRIPTION:
The role of a supply chain coordinator is crucial as it ensures the smooth functioning of the supply chain activities, from procurement to delivery. The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coordination of supply chain management to optimize efficiency and productivity while also ensuring cost-effectiveness. The Supply Chain Coordinator collaborates closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure that the right products are delivered to the right place at the right time. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring that all supply chain elements work together seamlessly. Effective communication and strategic planning are essential to support the organization's overall goals by maintaining a steady flow of goods and materials, thus enabling businesses to meet their objectives with enhanced operational efficiency.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and optimize a supply chain logistical network with specific attention to planning, procuring, and coordinating the movement of products from suppliers to end users.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality of goods.
- Implement and oversee inventory management practices to ensure optimal stock levels, reduce holding costs, and minimize waste through efficient inventory turnover.
- Coordinate with sales and production departments to forecast demand and ensure the availability of products to meet customer needs without overstocking.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with planning service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Utilize supply chain management software and tools to analyze supply chain operations, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements for efficiency gains.
- Ensure compliance with international and local supply chain regulations, including customs regulations, import and export restrictions, and environmental standards.
- Lead sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, focusing on reducing the environmental impact of planning operations and promoting ethical sourcing practices.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or with 7 to 10 years of similar experience.
- Three years managing, directing, or supervising people.
- Excellent English, reading, writing and comprehension, and grammar.
- Strong knowledge of computers, MS programs, SAP
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing methods, planning, and layout of production facilities, equipment, workflow, cost control, and cost reduction techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing to analyze, evaluate, and determine solutions to various problems that may affect the assigned area.
- Human relation skills to direct processing personnel and to work with plant supervisory personnel.
- Technical writing ability.
