Responsibilities

  • Execute established collections procedures to minimize credit risk exposure and credit losses
  • Enforce compliance with contractual payment terms through direct customer contact
  • Manage internal and external customer queries in a timely manner for resolution
  • Handle the disconnect and reconnect processes accurately and promptly
  • Contact individuals with defaulted debts or past-due bills using various communication methods
  • Reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and increase cash flow
  • Address escalated customer collections issues and suggest improvements to collection policies and procedures
  • Maintain detailed notes of collection activities in billing and collection systems
  • Advise the remittance group on proper application of payments and contact customers for remittance information if necessary
  • Coordinate collection activities with analysts and handle high-volume phone calls to delinquent customers
  • Reconcile customer disputes and recommend process improvements to streamline collection activities
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, accounting, and other relevant groups to resolve customer disputes
  • Maintain supporting documentation for decisions related to dropping customers with past-due accounts
  • Meet or exceed collections process metrics and quality control standards
  • Prepare monthly reports as required by the manager
  • Assist with accounting reporting requirements and comply with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of business experience, with at least 3 years in high-volume corporate collections
  • Commercial collections experience required
  • Proficiency with standard office software packages
  • Salesforce experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented mindset
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities independently
  • Knowledge of billing and collections procedures
