We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Collections Specialist to join our team at Primary Services. As a key member of our collections team, you will play a critical role in supporting our client's financial goals and improving customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Specialize in collecting debt owed by customers using various methods to contact individuals with defaulted debts or past-due bills.
- Reduce Days Sales Outstanding and increase cash flow by managing a high volume of outbound collection calls and resolving customer service issues.
- Serve as a backup to analysts when they are out of the office and ensure continuity in collection activities.
- Collect term fees, returned checks, and maintain accurate records of all collection activities in billing and collection systems.
- Address escalated customer collection issues from the customer care center and coordinate with relevant teams, such as sales, legal, and accounting, to resolve disputes.
- Advise the remittance group on proper payment application and communicate with customers for necessary remittance information.
- Suggest new or updated collection policies and procedures to enhance the customer experience and streamline processes.
- Maintain supporting documentation for any decisions regarding customer drops due to overdue payments, especially in compliance with Public Service Commissions requirements.
- Prepare monthly reports and assist with accounting reporting requirements as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional level of customer interaction.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business, or 3 years of relevant experience in the energy industry.
- Minimum 5 years of business experience, with at least 3 years of high-volume corporate collections experience.
- Commercial collections experience is required.
- Knowledge of billing and collections procedures and proficiency with standard office software packages.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred but not required.
- Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
