A Day in the Life of a ChildWatch Attendant

As a ChildWatch Attendant, you will be responsible for providing quality childcare and supervision to children while implementing fun and educational activities. You'll ensure a safe environment that aligns with the YMCA’s core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. You'll work closely with parents to keep them informed and engaged in their child's daycare experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing childcare curriculum within established guidelines
• Supervising children and ensuring their safety at all times
• Designing and leading age-appropriate activities
• Maintaining positive relationships with parents
• Keeping program areas organized and maintaining equipment
• Attending staff meetings, trainings, and family nights

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous childcare experience required
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 60 days of hire
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and handle various childcare situations simultaneously
